Admissions

The fulfillment of The GreenMount School mission depends on the presence of a diverse mix of children in the classroom. The school seeks to enroll children who have a high level of engagement in learning and who would seem to thrive in a small setting. The school environment is best suited to students and families that value co-operative achievement, community activism, and urban life.

Space constraints and our desire to preserve a low student-teacher ratio combine to limit the size of our enrollment, but we encourage all interested families to apply. Once enrolled, a child may continue at GMS as long as all enrollment contract terms are met and the experience remains a mutually satisfying one for both the student and the school. Admission preference is given to siblings of students currently enrolled in the school.

During the admissions process, the school seeks parents who exhibit a commitment to becoming cooperative, engaged, and dedicated members of the GMS community. Some learning differences can be addressed at GMS, but we do not offer a special education program.

The GreenMount School does not discriminate on the basis of race, sex, sexual orientation, religion, or national or ethnic origin in the administration of the admission policy, educational policies, or any other program administered by the school.
