Parent Policy Information
The Inclement Weather Policy
The GreenMount School follows the Baltimore City Public Schools inclement
weather policy. When Baltimore City Public Schools close, open late, or
dismiss early due to inclement weather, The GreenMount School will close
or delay opening for the corresponding amount of time. For example, if Baltimore
City Schools are open one hour late, GMS will open at 9:15 AM; if Baltimore
City Schools are close one hour early, GMS will close at 2:15 PM.
Friday or any other “half day” inclement weather procedure:
If Baltimore City Public Schools issue a one-hour delay on a Friday, GMS
will open at 9:15 and dismiss at 12 Noon. If Baltimore City Public Schools
issue a two-hour delay on a Friday, GMS will open at 10:15 and dismiss at
2:15.
In the event that the school closes early, every effort will be made to
contact the parent or guardian. If no contact can be made, your "emergency
person" (supplied by the parent on the child's medical form) will be
contacted. No children will be left unattended. In the case of early dismissal
there will be no After Care.
Lunchbox Policy
In order to keep up with the new cleanliness policy - enacted at the start
of the 03-04 school year - we have adopted a new lunch policy. Please
send you child to school with entirely disposable lunches in paper bags OR
a lunchbox.
Lunchboxes will need to be taken home each and
every day. Any lunchbox left at 6:00 will be thrown away. This policy has
made a big difference in the school cleanliness.
Field Trip Permission Slips
Students will not be allowed to participate in field trips unless a signed
permission slip form is returned to the school before the trip. Phone calls
and hand written notes are not acceptable. Click here for a blank Permission
Trip Form. The file will open in Adobe Acrobat Reader.
It is free from Adobe if you do not have it on your computer. Please fill in
the pertinent information and return the form to the school.
Medication Order Form
If your physician/dentist/nurse practitioner deems it necessary for your child to receive a medication during the school day,
the approval and specific directions must be provided to the school. Please fill out the form, have it signed by your child's physician. If your child
requires more than one medication, a seperate form must be filled out for each medication. You will find all of the information on the Medication Order Form.
