Planned Giving
A rented church in Waverly was the first home of The GreenMount School. A small group of intrepid parents worked tirelessly to create the educational experience they wanted for their children. They dared to hope that the school would continue year to year.
The Waverly Circle was established in 2012 to remember the school’s 20th anniversary. Paying homage to the vision and perseverance of our founding families to create a haven of experiential learning in a church basement in the Waverly neighborhood of Baltimore, members of The Waverly Circle show a passionate commitment to GreenMount’s mission, assuring that future generations of children will benefit from a GreenMount education.
Planned Giving members have a special place in The GreenMount community. They are honored at a gathering each year and invited to a variety of school happenings.
Naming The GreenMount School in your estate plans through a charitable bequest may enable you to make a more significant contribution than you thought possible while allowing you to meet other financial and philanthropic goals.
Endowment
As The GreenMount School celebrates its 30th anniversary, we are thrilled to announce the establishment of two Endowment Funds. This is a dream that was long in the making and signifies a deep commitment to GreenMount’s future students and teachers. These Endowment Funds have been made possible by generous gifts from The Kiefer Foundation. With these donations and the matching donations from our community, the endowment funds indicate a visionary understanding of the fiduciary stewardship of our donors and the Board of Trustees.
These endowments will help the GreenMount School in our goal to serve families of all economic backgrounds.
- The Jeff and Randy Kiefer Families Scholarship Fund was founded in 2019. The purpose is to provide financial aid to students who meet the academic standards of The GreenMount School and show financial need. Priority will be given to families living in Remington and Central Baltimore neighborhoods.
- The GreenMount School Financial Aid Fund was founded in 2022. The purpose is to provide financial aid to students who meet the academic standards of The GreenMount School and show financial need.
These funds are in their infancy, but the possibilities are endless for new avenues for impactful philanthropy and sustained programming at GreenMount.
