Please join us for an engaging virtual workshop designed to equip caregivers to support their children’s literacy development while school is not in session. Ultimately, our goal is to cultivate not just reading skills, but reading inspiration. All are welcome to attend, though you may find this workshop most helpful if your child is: entering kindergarten through third grade, having a hard time reading at their expected grade level, or recently making significant gains in reading after struggling previously.Â
This workshop is presented by Mandy Shankman, LCPC, from LB Counseling Group. Mandy has 18 years of experience assessing and meeting children’s social-emotional, behavioral, and academic needs through evidence-based practices as a school psychologist. Mandy’s personal and professional experience has sparked a passion for destigmatizing learning disabilities, empowering children and adults to work with instead of against their brains, and supporting parents to be educational partners. Currently, Mandy is a licensed psychotherapist practicing in Roland Park. She provides individual and couples’ therapy as well as comprehensive psychological/
